I mean look, Andrew Bailey was the only real contender for rookie of the year, and i with no doubt think he deserves it. But what happened to Gordon Beckham? 5th place. I know Tigers fans are gonna rip me but this kid hit 270 14 homers 66 rbis in only 378 ab’s and he played in the college world series last year. He made a tough transition from SS to 3b. And if rangers fans say “oh well andrus should have won, he played great defence and made michael young move to 3rd. I don;t wanna hear that crap. Andrus made 22 errors and if anyone remembers clearly, the starting shortstop job was between Andrus-Arias-Visquel and Andrus happened to win. I know overall he’s only 21 and played good defense overall. And Tigers fans shut it because you don’t know how bad his strikeout rate was. Brett anderson and Jeff Niemann were much better. I think that gordon beckham shoul’ve gotten 2nd. Whatever. Disagree that’s just my opinion

Voting needs to be changed. The writers being allowed to do it all is absurd. They need to be dropped altogether or another group, or two, needs to be added to negate their pettiness.
